What is Beyond Aroma Olive Emulsifying Wax 200g?
It is an emulsifier and thickener made in Italy and derived from olive oil, similar to Olivem 1000. It creates stable, silky-feeling emulsions and works across a wide pH range of 3 to 12.
What are its ingredients and benefits?
INCI: Cetearyl Olivate (and) Sorbitan Olivate. It emulsifies oil and water into smooth creams and lotions, thickens the formula, gives excellent spreadability with a silky feel, and is compatible with many cosmetic ingredients and actives.
Who is it suitable for?
It suits DIY formulators and brands making face creams, lotions, body butters, conditioners, facial cleansers and baby products, especially those who prefer plant-derived emulsifiers.
What does it look and smell like?
It appears as white to off-white flakes or pastilles with a very mild, waxy scent. It melts with gentle heating and blends easily into the oil phase of a formula.
How should I use it?
Use at 2-8% of the total formula. Add it to the oil phase, heat both oil and water phases to around 70°C, then combine and stir until a smooth emulsion forms. Cool before adding heat-sensitive actives.
What can I pair it with?
It pairs well with Beyond Aroma carrier oils and butters such as mango butter, with glycerin, vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid, and with xanthan gum when extra stability or texture is needed.
Is it vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. It is derived from olive oil and is free of animal-derived ingredients, making it vegan and cruelty-free, and it is a popular choice for natural and organic formulations.
