What is Beyond Aroma Natural Emulsifying Wax 200g?
It is an emulsifying wax made in the USA, derived from vegetable oils (coconut and palm kernel). It appears as white solid flakes and is approved by Ecocert for use in natural and organic cosmetics.
What are its ingredients and benefits?
INCI: Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate. It regulates viscosity, enhances emulsion stability and improves the texture of creams and lotions. It is PEG-free, gluten-free, compatible with most waxes and natural or synthetic resins, and dissolves in hot water to form an opalescent emulsion.
Who is it suitable for?
It suits DIY formulators and brands making creams, lotions, body butters, conditioners, facial cleansers and baby products, especially those seeking an Ecocert-approved, PEG-free emulsifier.
What does it look and smell like?
It is a white solid flake with little to no odour. It melts easily with gentle heating and blends cleanly into the oil phase of a formula.
How should I use it?
Use at 2-8% of the total formula. Add it to the oil phase, heat oil and water phases to around 70°C, combine and stir until a smooth emulsion forms. Cool before adding heat-sensitive actives.
What can I pair it with?
It pairs well with Beyond Aroma carrier oils and butters such as mango butter, with glycerin, vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid, and with xanthan gum when extra stability is desired.
Is it vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. It is derived from plant-based vegetable oils, is PEG-free and gluten-free, and contains no animal-derived ingredients, making it vegan and cruelty-free.
